G.Scott!Design develops strategies and creates designs that allow users to easily find their way in unfamiliar surroundings. We are designers, planners, and specifiers. Be it a modern or vintage building, a single office floor or an entire campus, we’ve got the skills and solutions to make them work. G.Scott!Design is collaborative. We believe in the synergy of client and designer teams. We believe the results are more effective and the effort more rewarding. G.Scott!Design is a consultant. We bring a unique and valuable perspective to the table. The result is more than the sum of its parts. G.Scott!Design thrives on complex communication problems — in the built environment or on the printed page. Challenging projects are welcome in our studio. (And just for fun an easy one now and then is good too!) G.Scott!Design works logically and thoughtfully. We examine a building through its users’ eyes, unlike other professions which are focused on many other aspects of the building. We “walk” through a building, locating signage based on how users experience the building, carefully considering the user populations. We endeavor to design a system of signs that satisfies users’ needs and complements the architecture. We are the user advocate.
G.Scott!Design brings a depth of experience — including a natural chutzpa — to understanding buildings and making them understandable to users through signage and other place making graphic devices. We draw upon experiences of other buildings that we’ve used, other projects we’ve designed, and our natural inquisitiveness about how things work, as well as our passion for communication, design, good-looking signs, and architecture. G.Scott!Design is fun and easy to work with, nimble, and playfully irreverent.

That's preposterous! We love our tagline but we like this variation too. It's fun, irreverent, playful, and cheeky don't you think? Our faith-based clients get a huge laugh of it when we tell them this alternate meaning to "the trinity," the term we gave to our symbol bubbles at left. We introduced this variation at the 2006 Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival on our sponsor slide. We thought this was the perfect audience to have a little fun with. In fact, we donated services to produce the sponsor slide show which appears before each screening. But besides flashing a bevy of logos and a few ads, we also designed and wrote copy for the slides advertising membership and an online silent auction. While the primary focus of our business is environmental graphic design, we have an overarching passion for good design, clever copy, and plain old fun.
