The State of Football

The State of Football wall was created by the Seattle Seahawks and Qwest “to honor the rich tradition and legacy of high school football in the State of Washington.”
Every high school in Washington State that has a football team has their helment on the “Football ” as it is colloquially known, currently numbering around 340. The remainder of the 372 helments are brown “placeholders” for future high school teams.
It’s great fun going Qwest Field for a soccer match, a football game, or other event and watch people looking at the wall. The kids often don’t need the key at the bottom to find their school’s helment: they find it so quickly it’s actually a little scary. But then there are those who are not so eagle-eyed and rely on the key.
Key to the success of the wall is the ability to add schools. All it takes is a new helmet, a forklift, a strong arm, and, voilá, the wall is updated.

Very cool idea. It’s great that those kids can pick out their helmet so fast
